Newest Nevada Retreat Center - The SMACenter

St. Mary’s Art Center, fondly called the SMACenter may offer top notch art workshops with nationally ranked instructors in the summer, but starting in November the SMACenter becomes a charming retreat center.  Groups from 10 to 30 can escape to the mountains and hold meetings, team building sessions, workshops or reunions in this delightful setting.  Staff is available to assist with design, programming or special events. St. Mary’s Art Center sits on five acres on the edge of historic Virginia City, Nevada.  This 130 year old building, which has recently been renovated and redecorated boast fifteen charming sleeping rooms, six and one half bathrooms, two meeting areas, a lounge, a dining room and finally two fully equipped kitchens, which make it easy for groups to do their own cooking or arrange for catering. To schedule an event at St. Mary’s Art Center either call (775) 847-7774 or e-mail smacenter@earthlink.net

Just wanted to post a thank you for the generous amount of time you spent giving me a tour of the St. Mary’s Art Center today. I am so impressed with this gorgeous facility. What an impressive effort! I am looking forward to holding a silk painting workshop in the coming year. I know that the Art Center will be an exceptional location to share with silkpainters from all over the West.

Thanks again, Linda, for all your kindness.

As soon as you select a date for a workshop I would like you to send me materials to put on our website, a resume, description, materials list (if any), link to your website and plenty of jpegs of your work. All of your work is so colorful and besutifully designed that I want to get it on the website as soon as possible. Thanks again for stopping by. Linda

    Miss Linda,
We haven’t met yet….but know we are looking forward to reconnecting our family’s history with that of the “Hospital Building” July of 09. We do hope that you will be present for some story swapping as we can take you back to the time our family lived there just before rennovations began in the 60’s. Our family wants to thank you in advance for your assistant in bringing this gathering together and would love to hear the successes of the current use as an Art Center.
    God Bless…Jay
