SMAC’s Emerges as a Retreat Center!
St. Mary’s Art Center, fondly called the SMACenter, now is open as a retreat center. For six months of the year St. Mary’s Art Center offers intensive art workshops with nationally recognized instructors but now from November through April the center is turned into a six month a year retreat center located on five beautiful acres in historic Virginia City, Nevada.
Recently renovated and redecorated, the SMACenter, has unlimited hot water, high speed wireless throughout the building, fifteen sleeping rooms, six and 1/2 baths and numerous nooks and crannies for people to curl up and read a book or meet in small groups. For groups of 10 to 30, St. Mary’s Art Center, is the perfect place to escape and meet. Larger rooms can easily be set-up with tables, chairs and equipment to help groups get down to work. With two fully equipped kitchens groups can easily fix their own meals or arrange for catering. The SMACenter staff is available for workshop design and programming suggestions whether it is a business group, corporate teams, clubs or church groups.
